Restorative yoga is a deeply soothing inward form of yoga where the body is placed in relaxing postures that are supported with soft bolsters, blocks and blankets while the mind is invited to slow down.
The session typically involves only three to four poses, supported by pillows, blankets or other props you have at home that allow you to completely relax and rest. Held for 8-10 mins, restorative poses include light twists, seated forward folds, and gentle backbends. Mindfulness is the energy of being aware and awake to the present moment. It is the continuous practice of touching life deeply in every moment of daily life. These mindfulness practices will be guided by the teachings of Thich Naht Hanh, Zen Buddhist Master, global spiritual leader, poet, and peace activist. |
