Jan 6-May 25: Mondays
This is a profound and simple class.
A class for rest, relaxation and connection to one's self. Restorative yoga is a deeply soothing inward form of yoga where the body is placed in relaxing postures that are supported with soft bolsters, blocks and blankets while the mind is invited to slow down. Physical tension and energetic knots soften with each gentle pose.
Gentle verbal guidance for breath and mindfulness deepen the relaxation response. Poses include light twists, seated forward folds, and gentle backbends.
This class supports the tending of daily stress, poor sleep, physical tension and mental strain and is a wonderful way to practice yoga with minimal physical exertion. Most postures are enjoyed on the floor and the instructor can give minor assists in positioning and prop management. All props provided.
Benefits of Restorative Yoga include:
Slowing down the pace of life
Soothing the nervous system
