"Future generations, if there is a livable world for them, will look back at the epochal transition we are making to a life sustaining society. And they may well call this the timeof the Great Turning. It is happening now." - Joanna Macy
I have been thinking of you. I see your caregiving superpowers...
I see you reeling in the unraveling of the health care system.I see you softening the fall of this system with your unique care giving gifts. It breaks my heart open. I am feeling both the struggle and the tender beauty of this moment.
I had an in person Restorative Yoga Workshop scheduled called Deep Rest For Caregivers planned for Saturday, March 28th in Huntsville, Alabama. I am now quarantined in Guntersville and will be live streaming this workshop at two different times on the original date.
Know that taking opportunities to rest are essential for your resiliency and adaptability to uncertainty. Also know that you can let this opportunity go, too. There will be others. There are others. This will be recorded. Take care of you in the ways that feel right.
I have taught Restorative Yoga online many times and can tell you, it works. You have what you need at home. What you will not experience is my hands-on adjustments. What you will likely experience is the power of a community of caregivers showing up to deep rest like never before. And I will be fully present and centered for you.
And now you can share this with others you know who wouldn't have been able to join us in person. Spread the word.
Update March 22: Check in on March 24th for a full online schedule for ongoing classes. You are loved, dear ones. I'm on my way home. * * * Breath In, I know I am breathing in Breath out, I know I am breathing out

My loves, I am writing after being largely offline for over a week. I have been following many of your brave & compassionate posts, but unable to respond with my fullest attention. I want to share this personal update and say — I am calm. I am connected to you. I am very present. I am committed to my health. I feel your love and send my light to your homes.
I came home on Monday the 16th and on Tuesday got the news from my mother that her sister was dying in Missouri of rapid declining stage 4 cancer (non-Covid-19 related). My mother planned to leave in 2 hours in hopes to be there for her and her daughter. A very difficult decision for her to make in the wake of Covid-19. No other family lives in the state. My father could not go with her because he is managing the total renovation of their home which was hit by lightening a week before xmas. With the incredible support of my partner and closest soul family, I decided to go with her (leaving the beauty and sense of safety of wild hydrangea -whew) to take the lead in protecting her well-being during travel, etc. As is the theme of these times, we are needing to let go of a lot. My aunt passed away just 2 hours before we arrived. We are here with her daughter. We are doing ok and taking such tender care of each other. We are present to the risks of our situation and are taking the highest precautions to stay healthy and discern our next moves.
The Soul of the Story:
I have been teaching Restorative Yoga and meditation and facilitating the Work That Reconnects for the past 2 + years. I am ready for this uncertainty. I am in the realm of Deep Time with my family — and with the world. A time of death and re-birth. I will be teaching from my experience with my ancestors and teachers at my back and my future decedents guiding my every step. I have been awake to this Great Unraveling for sometime now. My nervous system is regulating the shock and I feel held and soothed by the earth. I am unafraid to touch the dying or the dead or the grief as it fills the room. I am paying attention.
The Present Moment:
My fiercest priority is to return home with my mother ASAP in strong health. She is a Goddess and we are communicating with beautiful compassion for each other. Once we are back safely in Alabama, I will post a registration for regular, online practices to nourish and regulate the nervous system and build resiliency that one can feel and draw from for a lifetime — and, Dear Ones, it will be potent medicine for these times. I hope you’ll join me consistently as needed. I love you. Please, PLEASE - be vigilant and safe.
The Universe, the Earth, our ancestors and future descendants are speaking mega phone loudly right now. Are you listening? You have ancient ears inside you. * * * Online Restorative Yoga + Heart Meditation March 21 7:30pm-9:30pm (stay tuned for future schedule) About the session: This is the time for deep rest and connection to heart. Restorative yoga is a deeply soothing inward form of yoga where the body is placed in relaxing postures that are supported with soft blankets and firm props -- that one can find at home -- while the mind is invited to slow down. Physical tension and energetic knots soften with each gentle pose. Find a quiet place in your home and create a spot on the floor the length of your body. * * * You'll need: Grab a cozy blankets, two towels, a couch cushion or 2 firm pillows, and a cloth to use as a eye pillow.
